While I was travelling back home from work I always came across beggers on the signals in absolutely terrible condition and my instant reaction would be to shift to the side where I presume they would not come and bother me and the moment they come my instant dialogue is "Maaf Karo" meaning forgive me.But Ramadan definately gives you a different prespective towards so many things in life I learnt a very important lesson today :"If you wish to know how blessed you are always look at the people who are deprived of what you have,And you shall never ask for more".
As I looked outside the window of my car I realized that there are so many things that we are blessed with but sometimes we just fail to thank the almighty,Did you ever think how ugly the world would look if you did not have a proper eye sight, how difficult it would be to do our daily activities without our hands. As I write this article I am already feeling a sense of gratitude towards My Lord.
Ramadan no doubt is a month of blessings,But It just does not stop here It is the beginning to a year long test where you have to put everything you learn and acquire in this month to use.I have observed amongst the youth that how much ever busy we are through out the year even sometimes missing our prayers due to other commitments we become all pious and dedicated during this month,If we can do it for a month why can't we do it for the entire year.
People are so busy running behind all the worldly things that sometimes they forget the true motive of their existence,This life is just a test,So i think we all should take sometime of and spend this ramadan introspecting what we really want to achieve success here or hereafter,How good or bad are we as humans, when was the last time we helped someone, when did we spend time taking care of our mom and dad.
When we reach a stage of self introspection we may probably realize that we are not even 1/10 of what we should be or rather what we should be to be good muslims. So my dear friends take a breather and think about how you want to spend the coming year.
Till we meet next time
